Deadly Tornado Downs Power Lines Near Nashville's Germantown Neighborhood

At least 22 people were killed after a tornado touched down in Nashville, Tennessee, early on Tuesday, March 3, according to reports citing officials.

The tornado destroyed buildings, downed trees, and cut power to thousands of people across the region. More than 48,000 Nashville Electric Service customers were without power as of 10.20 am on Tuesday, according to the company’s outage map. Officials told local media that deaths from the severe weather were reported in the Tennessee counties of Putnam, Wilson, Davidson, and Benton.
