KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 21 — A Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) employee from its Property Management and Valuation Department has been infected with Covid-19, the local authority said today.

The case marks the third infected person from DBKL, national news agency Bernama reported.

According to Bernama, the latest patient is a staff based at Menara TH Perdana on Jalan Sultan Ismail and was a close contact to DBKL’s first employee found to be Covid-19 positive.

“The employee was confirmed Covid-19 positive on October 20, after being ordered to undergo a swab test at the Rawang Health Clinic following close contact with the first case involving DBKL staff,” the local authority was quoted saying.

DBKL had previously affirmed that two of its staff were Covid-19 positive.

All three infected personnel are being treated at Hospital Sungai Buloh.

DBKL said close contact tracing of its third infected employee is being carried out.

It added that Menara TH Perdana, in particular the building lobby, its lids and levels 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 17 have been sanitised.

All three Menara DBKL buildings are operating as usual, in line with the procedures set by the National Security Council.
