Datuk Yusof Haslam mums on son's new movie and studio

3 Oct – Datuk Yusof Haslam has nothing to say about son Syamsul Yusof's decision to make his own movie outside of Skop Productions.

The producer, who was asked about Syamsul's new announcement that he is helming a new movie called "The Original Gangster" via his own studio, stated that he didn't even know that his son has such a project prior.

"I don't want to comment on anything regarding Syamsul. It is his right," he told Gempak. "I only heard about it from others."

Yusof also stated that the upcoming movie is not the third instalment of Skop Productions' "KL Gangster" films, and will be Syamsul's own thing.

"This issue is family-related. It's sensitive," he added.

Last week, Syamsul released a teaser poster of his upcoming movie, writing, "Malaysia's most expensive modern action movie ever produced coming up. Bismillah... Produced by Syamsul Yusof Films Sdn Bhd & Razors Edge Pictures. Media Prima Berhad as media partner."

He added that the movie will star big names like Aaron Aziz, Beto Kusyairy, Sharnaaz Ahmad, Yayan Ruhian, Rosyam Nor and many more.

Syamsul's most recent movie for Skop Productions was "Mat Kilau: Kebangkitan Pahlawan". He also has "Munafik 3" with the company to be released in the future.
