Danny Dyer lands comedy role after dramatic EastEnders exit
The soap star is set to share the screen with Ryan Sampson in the new comedy
Danny Dyer has signed up for a comedy after leaving EastEnders, saying “it's time to recalibrate and try something a bit new”.
The actor, 45, bowed out of the BBC soap at Christmas after playing Queen Vic landlord Mick Carter for almost 10 years, with the character getting lost at sea in dramatic scenes.
According to the Daily Mail, he has now landed a part in a new Sky series called Mr Bigstuff.

It will see Dyer team up with actor Ryan Sampson, who he worked with when he appeared in Sampson’s comedy Plebs a decade ago.
The actor said that he was a big fan of the After You've Gone star – who penned the comedy about brothers Lee and Glen and their turbulent relationship - and that he couldn’t wait to get started on the project.
“Following my nutty exit from EastEnders I feel like it's time to recalibrate and try something a bit new,” Dyer was quoted as saying.
“When I read the role of Lee I was honoured to be asked to develop an exciting character and explore his dysfunctional f***** up family relationships.”
Sampson, 37, said the comedy was about families and also “about fragile masculinity – about men and how f***** up we are”.
Dyer has also lined up a Netflix game show since he waved goodbye to Albert Square last year.
Cheat, which the actor is set to host along with comedian and former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Ellie Taylor, is described as a "battle of brains, wit… and barefaced lying”.

The game show starts in March.
