‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Emma Slater Suffers Injury; Won’t Join Dance Troupe For Now

The hits kept coming for pro Emma Slater after last week’s double elimination on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

Not only was she and partner Reginald VelJohnson cut from the ballroom after their cha cha and foxtrot failed to pass muster, the pro sustained an ankle injury in an undisclosed accident. She won’t be dancing as part of the troupe for now.

“Today threw a little curve ball at me but got looked after by some special people,” she wrote on Instagram. “Thought I was gunna be cutting a rug with my fellow #eliminated pros but sadly I got #eliminated from that crew too so I think I’ll go join @thereginaldveljohnson and just sit on the couch for a bit.”

After the special two-part competition on Oct. 7-8, VelJohnson and Slater scored 21 out of 40 for their foxtrot and a 21 out of 40 with their cha cha. They were eliminated along with Eric Roberts and his partner Britt Stewart.

Today’s episode of DWTS is Dedication Night. The nine remaining couples will take to the ballroom floor to honor influential figures/institutions in their lives. Mark Ballas will serve as a guest judge, while Derek and Hayley Hough will celebrate her return to the ballroom with a routine.
