Dancing with the Stars contestant and Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause has addressed speculation that she caused Gleb Savchenko's marriage to end.

The dancefloor pro announced his split from wife of 14 years Elena Samodanova earlier this week, just days after being eliminated from DWTS alongside celebrity partner Chrishell.

As is tradition with this type of show, 'curse' rumours began to hit the internet.

Responding via her Instagram Stories, the reality star wrote: "I am so saddened about the news of Gleb and Elena's split. It is unfortunate that this has caused rumours to swirl about my personal life.

"Having gone through a public split myself, I would not wish this on anyone. As you can imagine, the countless hours of training and dance rehearsals created a strong supportive friendship, but nothing more," she clarified.

"I wish nothing but the best for both Gleb and Elena during this unfortunate time."

Gleb's original announcement went as follows: "It is with a heavy heart that I tell you my wife and I are parting ways after 14 years of marriage.

"We still intend to co-parent our wonderful children together who we love so dearly, and we will strive to continue to be the best parents that we can to them. We ask that you respect our family's need for privacy and healing during this time."

Dancing with the Stars airs Monday nights on ABC in the US, while UK fans can watch the dances on the show's YouTube channel.
