Damage Seen From Rescue Helicopter After Avalanche Hits Italian Ski Resort

Damage to a ski resort in the Dolomites was reported on December 15 after an avalanche struck in northern Italy. No injuries or deaths were reported.

Local authorities who posted footage taken from a rescue helicopter said that the avalanche, which happened on the evening of December 14 on the mountain Marmolada, “destroyed” a ski lift and the Rifugio Pian dei Fiacconi lodge. Photos posted on social media showed the structure destroyed.
