The mayor of Catania announced a precautionary closure of schools, cemeteries, and municipal parks after severe weather impacted the Sicilian city on Tuesday, October 5, according to the Municipality of Catania.
This footage filmed by Instagram user @iltoccodelmale shows intense winds driving heavy rain across the streets of Catania.
The Municipality of Catania said housing and shopping centers were damaged, people were wounded, and trees were uprooted.
