Dairy Queen Employee Reveals the Seasonal Frozen Treat That Can 'Technically' Be Ordered 'Year Round'

What if you could order a seasonal Dairy Queen treat anytime you wanted? When it comes to a particular drink, one employee claims it’s possible.

TikTok creator, @DairyQueenShelbyTwp, whose real name is Miranda, posted a video revealing that the brand’s frozen hot chocolate can be made anytime. “My favorite drink at Dairy Queen is a frozen hot chocolate. I remember ordering this when my friends when my friends and I would walk up to Dairy Queen back in middle school,” says the creator, who has amassed over 2 million followers sharing her creations as a Dairy Queen worker.

Throughout the clip, Miranda shares the process of making one of the chocolatey desserts from start to finish.

“It’s been off and on the menu since then, but technically we can make it year round,” she shares.

The luscious menu item is made by blending DQ’s Misty slush base with cocoa fudge and ice cream, she says. While the ice cream chain is known for their Blizzards, the creator argues this is certainly just as good.

“It’s definitely one of the lesser known and more underrated things that we offer,” she says.

Fans in the comments section were just as enthusiastic about the frozen hot chocolate with one writing, “That’s my favorite toooo!!!! 🥰🥰” and another chiming in, “Literally the best.”

If you’re a lover of anything coffee and frappuccinos, you’re in luck. She also shares a hack that can turn the frozen hot chocolate into a mocha with your choice of flavor add-ons.

“If you add coffee, then it becomes a mocha latte, which you can also get as caramel or vanilla,” she says. “They’re very similar to other frozen coffee drinks that other fast food chains, but of course better because they’re made with Dairy Queen’s soft serve.”

Late last month, DQ brought back two beloved confections for Valentine’s Day —  Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Treat and Red Velvet Cake Blizzard Cupid Cake.

DQ’s Red Velvet Cake Blizzard features red velvet cake pieces, cream cheese icing topped off with the company’s soft serve which seeks to bring a “luxurious and velvety smooth experience” to customers celebrating the season of love.

The Cupid Cake is a trendy, heart-shaped cake with a base layer of DQ’s vanilla soft serve, a center of red velvet cake pieces and cream cheese icing. It's topped with a layer of Red Velvet Cake Blizzard.

The cake is "perfectly sized for two" so you can share with your significant other.
