She is the second Australian Open participant to have been held in detention after men's world number one Novak Djokovic, who was detained at Melbourne's airport on Wednesday (January 5).

She said she does not oppose vaccinations but did not have time to get the shot after the last season, as she had planned to.

The doubles specialist decided not to appeal the decision.
