The country of 10.7 million has Europe's highest number of new infection cases relative to population size.

One town to the northwest of Prague, is converting a general ward for patients, increasing the number of beds from 12 to 29.
The country had over 8,000 daily infections twice in the past week, bringing active cases to 68,740 and probably much higher as high positivity rates from testing suggest many are missed.
