Cypress Hill to fulfill “Simpsons” prediction by performing with London Symphony Orchestra 28 years later

Cypress Hill accidentally booked the London Symphony Orchestra, "possibly while high," in the series' 1996 episode, "Homerpalooza."

No television show has manifestation powers quite like The Simpsons

Another one of the series’ prophetic predictions is slated to come true when Cypress Hill takes to the stage with the London Symphony Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall later this evening.

The performance comes 28 years after The Simpsons aired its 1996 episode “Homerpalooza,” which featured a joke about the hip-hop group accidentally ordering the orchestra “possibly while high" at a festival. After a brief group meeting, Cypress Hill eventually bands together with the orchestra to perform their 1993 hit, “Insane in the Brain.”

Now, the group is set to perform a "special rendition" of their 1993 album Black Sunday, as well as “other hits from their extensive back-catalogue,” at the concert, per the event's page on the Royal Albert Hall website.

The orchestra, conducted by Troy Miller, will provide “unique orchestral arrangements of the band’s most iconic songs including 'Insane in the Brain' and 'I Wanna Get High'" as part of the long-awaited collaboration.

Member B-Real previously told the BBC that the idea of performing with the London Symphony Orchestra is “something that we've talked about for many years since the Simpsons episode first aired.” He added, “So it's very special for us. And it's coming off the heels of our 30th anniversary for our Black Sunday album."

Cypress Hill didn't just tap the LSO for the event. Later in the episode, it is eventually revealed that it was actually Peter Frampton — not Cypress Hill — who had originally attempted to book the orchestra for his set.

So, naturally, the group told the BBC they attempted to invite him to the gig, but hadn’t heard back.

B-Real noted, “We've never met him before, but we thought it would be a kick to invite the legendary Peter Frampton."
