Cyberpunk 2077, the highly-anticipated RPG with added Keanu Reeves, has been delayed yet again, raising fears that it may actually be released in 2077.
The CD Projekt Red game was originally slated for release on April 16 this year, but was then pushed back to September 17. Unfortunately, it's now been pushed back even further to November 19.
In a similar statement to the one released earlier this year, CD Projekt Red co-founder Marcin Iwiński and head of studio Adam Badowski explained that the game is simply still "not ready" to be released, and that they are not prepared to ship something unfinished.
"At the time we are writing these words, Cyberpunk 2077 is finished both content and gameplay-wise," the statement read. "The quests, the cutscenes, the skills and items; all the adventures Night City has to offer — it’s all there.
"But with such an abundance of content and complex systems interweaving with each other, we need to properly go through everything, balance game mechanics and fix a lot of bugs. A huge world means a huge number of things to iron out and we will spend the additional time doing exactly that.
The statement went on to note that journalists from all over the world are currently playing a preview version of the game, with hands-on previews to go live on June 25.
"We hope this will satisfy some of your hunger for the game as we work to polish it for the November launch," the statement added.
CD Projekt Red previously confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be available on both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at launch in addition to the PS4 and Xbox One, although this new delay means the game will arrive just weeks before the release of the next-gen consoles.
Cyberpunk 2077 will (hopefully) be released on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on November 19.
