“As The CW continues its expansion into live sports, we are thrilled to partner with Barstool Sports,” said Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment, The CW Network. “The CW is quickly becoming a destination for college football fans every Saturday thanks to our partnership with the ACC, which has delivered some of the biggest ratings in the history of the network. We look forward to continuing this momentum with our first bowl game, delivered in the iconoclastic Barstool fashion.”

The bowl game telecast will see Barstool content creators including Dave Portnoy, Dan “Big Cat” Katz, and Jake Marsh call the game. Caleb Pressley and Adam “Rone” Ferrone will serve as sideline reporters.

Sports programming has been one of the pillars of the CW’s new strategy under the ownership of Nexstar Media Group, which acquired a 75% interest in the network in 2022. The network has aired ACC football and basketball games on Saturdays as well as LIV Golf. The CW has also swung deals for WWE NXT (beginning in 2024) and NASCAR Xfinity Series (coming in 2025).

Paramount Global and Warner Bros. Discovery each retain 12.5% stakes in The CW.
