Cumbre Vieja Volcano Spews Lava as Thousands of Buildings Destroyed Across La Palma

The Cumbre Vieja volcano on the Spanish island of La Palma continued to erupt on Friday, October 29, spewing lava that advanced throughout the area.

Footage filmed by the Canary Islands Volcanology Institute shows the ongoing eruptions at 7:30 pm local time.

A new southern lava flow was reactivated and running parallel to another flow on Camino Aniceto as of Thursday, the Canary Islands Volcanology Institute said.
