Crystal Fung apologises for wrong nominee name

12 Jan – Crystal Fung recently expressed her apology after making the mistake of saying the wrong name when she presented the Most Popular TV Theme Song at the TVB Anniversary Awards.

As reported on Mingpao, the actress, who mistakenly said the name Kayee Tam instead of Vivian Koo as the singer of the song, "Wailing Wall" (the theme to "Hong Kong Love Stories") and earned the ire of Vivian's fans following the blunder, took to social media to upload an apology video, saying, "I am sorry to Vivian Koo and her fans. I didn't do a good job earlier. I made a mistake at the awards ceremony."

"Wailing Wall was Vivian's song. I think [I made the mistake] because I was too nervous. So here is my sorry!" she added.

Vivian later responded to Crystal, saying that she will not blame the actress for the mistake and asked her fans not to scold the latter.

"I'm fine. I understand that Crystal made a mistake. Please don't blame her anymore. Thank you for all your love for "Wailing Wall", thank you for all the votes you have given to me. I will continue to work hard and live up to your expectations," she added.

Despite her fans' support, Vivian did not end up winning the said award, which was instead given to Hubert Wu for "Mortal Man Knows No Love" - the theme song for "The Exorcist's 2nd Meter".
