Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden Starts U.K. Trip in the Most Appropriate Way— with a Pint in a Pub!

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are set for a royal double date night with Prince William and Princess Kate during their visit

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden are raising a glass to their U.K. visit!

The royal couple started their three-day visit to the U.K. on Wednesday, and one of their first stops was a quintessentially British experience: having a pint of beer at a local pub.

At The Three Blackbirds pub in Newmarket, Princess Victoria, 46, and Prince Daniel, 50, stepped behind the bar. The future queen of Sweden poured herself a draft beer — the Norfolk Topper by Barsham Brewery — before raising the pint and taking a sip.

The pair also met the pub owner, discussed English pub culture and heard a presentation about East Anglia during their visit.

Their first day also took Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel to a STANTA training camp in eastern England, where Swedish military personnel are delivering training to Ukrainian soldiers as part of the U.K.-led Operation Interflex.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel are set for a royal double date during their U.K. visit. On Thursday evening, they'll attend the annual Royal Variety Performance at London's Royal Albert Hall alongside Kate Middleton and Prince William, which will feature performances by Cher and Swedish pop star Zara Larsson.

Prince William and Crown Princess Victoria have a lot in common as fellow heirs to the throne, and their meeting during the trip will be a royal reunion. The Swedish royals were invited to William and Kate's wedding in 2011, and the British pair visited with them in January 2018. More recently, Princess Victoria accompanied her father, King Carl XVI Gustav of Sweden, at King Charles' coronation in May.

Prince William and Princess Kate, both 41, have been regular guests of honor at the Royal Variety Show and last attended in Nov. 2021, when comedian Alan Carr told Prince William he was "not hitting on his wife" after complimenting Kate from the stage.

The tradition of royals attending the theatrical event began with William's great-great grandfather King George V in 1921.
