Crowds March in Oslo After Deadly Shooting at Gay Bar

Crowds marched through the streets of Oslo, Norway, on Saturday, June 25, one day after a gunman killed two people and left at least 19 seriously injured during the city’s annual Pride festival.

Police said that the shootings happened at three locations on Friday, including outside and inside the London Pub, a bar popular with the city’s LGBTQ+ community, according to Aftenposten.

Police said they considered the attack an act of extreme Islamist terrorism. A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged murder, attempted murder and terrorist acts.

The country’s terror threat level was raised to level five, the highest number, in response to the incident. The Oslo Pride organization announced it had canceled all pre-planned events for Saturday after they said they received “clear advice and recommendations” from Norwegian Police.
