Crowd Attempts to Enter Bulgarian Parliament During Protest Against COVID Measures

Police held off protesters’ attempts to enter Bulgaria’s parliament building in Sofia on January 12, during a demonstration against COVID-19 measures in the country.

The demonstration, organized by the nationalist Vazrazhdane (or “Revival”) party, was against the country’s COVID-19 “green certificate” requirement, NOVA reported.

The country’s interior ministry said four police officers were injured and a man carrying a gas pistol was arrested, as protesters attempted to enter the National Assembly building.
