Crews Work to Clear Sao Paulo State Highways After Deadly Landslides

Crews from the Sao Paulo Roads Department worked to clear highways on Monday, February 20, following floods and landslides which killed at least 40 people and left a further 1,730 displaced.

The flooding hit the north coast of Sao Paulo state on Saturday night and continued into Sunday, according to local news reports.

This footage from the Sao Paulo Roads Department shows the SP-55 highway in Juquehy blocked off by landslides. The highway remained obstructed in parts, along with highway SP-98, latest reports said.
