At least four people were reported killed and 2.1 million evacuated in the states of West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand, as Cyclone Yaas, since downgraded to a “deep depression,” battered eastern India on May 26 and 27.

The storm first made landfall in Odisha on Wednesday, May 26, bringing rainfall and damaging wind speeds of up to 85 km/h (approximately 53 mph).
