Crews Carry Out Avalanche Control in East Washington

Avalanche and maintenance crews cleared snow near a highway in east Washington state on Tuesday, February 28, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) said.

Footage released by the WSDOT shows crews working on US Highway 2 near Stevens Pass, it said.

“Early-morning avalanche control brought down a lot of snow and it took some work to clear it all,” the WSDOT said.

The National Weather Service in Spokane warned untreated roads would become slick due to frozen slush and refreeze of surfaces through Wednesday morning as temperatures dropped back below freezing. Credit: Washington State Department of Transportation via Storyful
