KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- The Tourism Recovery Action Committee (TRAC) will once again meet with industry players following the latest development of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Tourism Malaysia director-general Datuk Musa Yusof said the meeting which was expected to be held in two weeks' time would get feedback on the 2020 Economic Stimulus Package.
He said the meeting would also look into ways to help certain sectors and industries affected by COVID-19.
"At a recent Cabinet meeting, we were asked to review the matter (assistance through the stimulus package), and we are planning to meet with the new minister (Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri) and also the industry players," he told a press conference after the launch of the Malaysia Travel Fair (MTF) at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.
The exhibition which was officiated by Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry deputy secretary-general (tourism) Mohd Zamri Mat Zain.

On Feb 27, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad during his stint as interim prime minister had launched an RM20 billion Economic Stimulus Package to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, especially on the tourism industry.
Among the initiatives announced were RM100 digital vouchers per person for domestic flights, rails and hotel accommodations; additional matching grants for tourism promotion matching grants to promote tourism with an allocation of RM500 million and relaxation of existing guidelines limiting the use of hotels by government agencies.
