COVID-19 Patient Walks Furthest Distance Since Entering ICU 54 Days Prior

A critical coronavirus patient made progress at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, England, on June 1 when he walked the longest distance he had since entering ICU 54 days before.

Footage shared by the hospital shows 42-year-old Dan Ridlington from Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, walking through his ward with the assistance of a walking frame and a nurse.

Ridlington spent four weeks on a ventilator and is walking again after fighting off the worst of the virus. Hospital staff hope that he can soon be moved to another ward to continue his recovery. Credit: Royal Papworth Hospital via Storyful
