KUALA LUMPUR, March 13 (Bernama) -- Kuala Lumpur Police have stepped up preventive measures at their headquarters after a policeman there developed what is believed to be COVID-19 symptoms.
Kuala Lumpur Police chief Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim said the policeman has been sent to a hospital for an examination.
“Although we have yet to receive the results of the examination, we immediately took steps to sanitize areas within and outside the headquarters. Mass gatherings at the headquarters are being reduced in an effort to prevent officers and personnel from being infected by COVID-19,” he told a press conference at the headquarters.
Mazlan advised all officers and personnel to use face masks and hand sanitizers more frequently because crime-prevention operations are continuing.
The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared COVID-19 a pandemic.
