KOTA BHARU, March 22 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Information Department (JaPen) has mobilised its machinery through the Info on Wheels (IOW) programme to disseminate information on the Movement Control Order (MCO) to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
Its Cyber Media Branch assistant director Mohd Fatiazee Ab Aziz said the initiative was one of the approaches used by the department to convey government’s announcement and recommendations to the public.
He said the vehicles from the department’s mobile unit has been deployed to 10 districts in the state to deliver information on MCO as well as the regulations in the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988.
“The information disseminated through loudspeakers in several popular public areas such as wet markets including the Siti Khadijah Market, Tunjung Rural Transformation Centre (RTC) and residential areas,” he told reporters met at the Kelantan JaPen IOW programme here today.
“We hope the public will view the MCO directive to remain at home seriously as this order is an important attempt to stop the chain of COVID-19 from spreading,” he said.
