Courtney Love says she has a 'mad crush' on Kendrick Lamar, recalls being ghosted by 'f---ing rude' PJ Harvey
The Hole singer expressed interest in working with the "Not Like Us" rapper.
Courtney Love, who knows a thing or two about disses, called diss track extraordinaire Kendrick Lamar one of her dream collaborators, revealing that she has a "mad crush" on the rapper.
Speaking with The Standard in an interview published Tuesday, the singer-songwriter and widow of Kurt Cobain declared that she does not do collabs ("man, I hate that word!"), though she would want to work with Lamar and divulged the crush.
"I would love to work with Kendrick Lamar," said Love. "I have a mad crush on him."
Love also said that she'd "love to co-write a song with Lana Del Rey," contrasting remarks she made earlier this year wherein she stated that she has not "liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song" and that "she should really take seven years off."

"I’d like to be 'Paul' and go hard on choruses while going back to Norman and go hard on choruses, or whatever," Love said this time around. "She’s currently on her honeymoon; I'm very happy for her. But every time some kid asks me to 'collab' with Lana – I mean come on!"
The Hole singer quipped, "Can you stop saying 'collab' to someone who straddles Gen X and boomer? We don’t do that! Call it 'writing a song together,' not 'featuring.' It makes me lose my temper and makes it the last thing I want to do."
Love also said she'd want to perform with PJ Harvey, and shared an amusing anecdote about the folk singer apparently ghosting her. "I wanted just one of her great iconic Stones guitar riffs," said Love. "We have a relationship; I've endorsed her over the decades, but she chose not to respond to me. So I wrote her about how f---ing rude that was. Her manager tried to smooth things over, but it's not OK."
"She hasn’t played rock music in 100 years!" added Love. "Her first five albums are great; after that, she ventured into art space."
Love has made headlines in recent months for her unfiltered opinions on some of the female artists in the music industry today, having taken shots at both Taylor Swift and Beyoncé. She has said that Swift is "not interesting as an artist," and that she does not enjoy Beyoncé's music, though she does have an appreciation for "Black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed" on the heels of Cowboy Carter.
Alongside 070 Shake, Love recently released a cover of Tim Buckley's “Song of the Siren." She called 070 Shake a "goddess" and "truly a purist and a queen" in her new interview.
