Courteney Cox said she still feels the presence of her late Friends co-star Matthew Perry after his death in October 2023. During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning, Cox shared that Perry still frequently "visits" her.

"You know, he’s just so funny. He has genuinely a huge heart, obviously struggled," she said while speaking about the 20th anniversary of the hit sitcom's finale. “I’m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years. He visits me a lot if we believe in that.”

Perry starred in the show as Chandler Bing alongside Cox, who played Monica Geller. The two characters would eventually fall in love and get married in the later seasons. Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc, and Lisa Kudrow made up the rest of the show's ensemble and played the other members of the New York City friend group.

Cox added that she believes other important figures in her life who have passed on come back to guide her. “You know, I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew—I feel like there are a lotta people that, I think, guide us,” she said. “I do sense, yeah, I sense Matthew’s around for sure.”

Following Perry's death on Oct. 28, Cox posted a sweet tribute to her friend, remembering their time together on the series.

“I am so grateful for every moment I had with you, Matty, and I miss you every day,” Cox wrote alongside a clip that depicts the first time Monica and Chandler get together in London. “When you work with someone as closely as I did with Matthew, there are thousands of moments I wish I could share. For now, here’s one of my favorites.”

“To give a little backstory, Chandler and Monica were supposed to have a one-night fling in London," she explained. "But because of the audience’s reaction, it became the beginning of their love story. In this scene, before we started rolling, he whispered a funny line for me to say. He often did things like that. He was funny, and he was kind. 🤍🕊️”
