A couple’s house was washed away by floodwaters at Taree, New South Wales, on what was meant to be their wedding day on March 20.
Tanya Cross filmed what she called a “surreal” video that shows the house floating on the overflowing Manning River on Saturday.
Local reports said the house belonged to Sarah Soars and Joshua Edge, who expected to tie the knot on March 20 but instead watched their home drift away during the severe flooding.
A GoFundMe page was set up to help the couple start again.
New South Wales Premier Gladys Berejiklian said on March 22 around 18,000 people were evacuated from their homes in the state’s flood disaster, most of whom lived on the Mid North Coast. A flood watch was in place for most parts of coastal New South Wales on the same day. Credit: Tanya Cross via Storyful
