Couple Offers to Pay for All Destination Wedding Guest Accommodations — Then Books 4 People Per Room in Budget Hotel
A wedding guest explained on Reddit that the hosts crammed four attendees into each room even though it only cost $40 per night
Destination wedding guests want different accommodations after seeing their shared "budget" hotel room.
In a post on Reddit's "Wedding" forum, an individual explained that the hosts of a destination wedding paid for all of their guests' accommodations, including the hotel rooms. However, they aren't satisfied with what was provided.
"We were told by our friends that accommodations had been organized for a large group of us," the poster explained. "We’d all assumed that since it’s mainly couples, it would be two to a room. However, upon arriving at the venue, we were given room assignments that are four to a room with each room having a full size bed and a pullout couch (or bunk beds)."
With so many people crammed in one room, day-to-day flow has been disrupted for everyone.
"There are three days of events and the majority of guests were late to the first event due to issues getting ready / showering / pooping all in a single bathroom," the poster continued.

Now, the individual wants to get their own hotel room "just to have some space."
"It’s only about $40 a night but I’m worried about offending our hosts," they wrote, adding in the comments section, "I’m definitely trying to be understanding given that they are organizing housing for a lot of people. But I was definitely pretty shocked to see the accommodations in the first place (no amenities such as blow dryers/ironing boards) and even more shocked to learn upon arrival that it would be shared by four people."
The poster asked the forum for their thoughts or any advice they might have.

Most Reddit users in the comments section felt like the hosts were being cheap and advised the poster to find different accommodations.
"$40 a night and they’re still squishing you in like sardines?," one person commented. "Get your own room."
"They weren’t worried about offending you by putting you in a room with another couple and not giving you the heads up!" another user wrote. "Get your own room!"
