Country music legend Dolly Parton finally joins TikTok (VIDEO)

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 5 — US country music legend Dolly Parton has officially joined popular social media platform TikTok.

Her first clip, posted on Sunday (Dec 4), is a montage of clips of the country icon, ending with a “Hey, TikTok! It’s Dolly!” message, according to Hollywood Reporter.

“I have arrived!” the 76-year-old captioned the video.

Another clip is a compilation of Parton greeting her fans.

Others include a “Better late than never!” post, an “I’ve officially joined TikTok” video, a funny look at the many sides of Dolly across different social media platforms and a tribute to fans on TikTok who have featured the singer in their content, set to 9 to 5 - which Parton recently sang as a duet with Kelly Clarkson.

In September last year, an impersonator account was removed from TikTok after it was discovered to be an unverified user and not the real artist.

Her representative reportedly told Today that the impersonator lifted a previous video and “doctored it,” imploring fans to “take a closer look” at what had been posted.
