This Country getting US remake from Bridesmaids director
This Country will be travelling across the pond as the comedy show is getting a US remake from Bridesmaids director Paul Feig.
Deadline reports that Fox has ordered a 14-episode series of the mockumentary, which will be a remake of the BAFTA-winning BBC series of the same name created by and starring Taskmaster star Daisy May Cooper and Charlie Cooper.
The US version of This Country, which is Fox's first commission for the 2021-22 season, will follow a fictional documentary crew who travel to a small town to study young adults and the things that concern them in modern life.

They end up choosing cousins Kelly (Chelsea Holmes) and Shrub Mallet (The Kids Are Alright star Sam Straley) to follow, with the results likely to be both awkward and hilarious.
The US version of This Country will also star The Boys actress Aya Cash, Lethal Weapon's Seann William Scott, Kim Possible's Taylor Ortega and What We Do In The Shadows star Justin Linville.
Feig will direct and executive produce, with Sex and the City producer Jenny Bicks writing and executive producing, while Charlie Cooper, Daisy May Cooper and BBC Studios' Angie Stephenson are also executive producing.
"Jenny and I are SO EXCITED to bring this amazing series to the American public," Feig said. "We have assembled a cast of comedic superstars who have taken the hilarious groundwork laid by Daisy and Charlie Cooper and made it their own.

The original This Country explored the lives of Cotswolds-dwelling cousins Kerry and Lee 'Kurtan' Mucklowe and aired three series and a one-off special between 2017 and 2020.
