Drivers queued for coronavirus testing outside Dodger Stadium on Thursday, December 17, amid a spike in cases in Southern California area that has pushed area hospitals to their limits.
On Saturday, California reported over 43,600 new cases and at least 272 additional deaths tied to the virus. According to official figures, over 1,807,000 people in the state have tested positive, with at least 22,432 deaths.
Southern California has been particularly hard hit, with hospitals in the Los Angeles area reportedly planning for the possible need to ration care.
