Cosmonauts install robotic arm controls on ISS

STORY: During a seven-hour excursion, engineers Oleg Artemyev and Denis Matveev of Roscosmos exited the Russian module Poisk. Their task was to install and connect a control panel, remove the protective covers from the arm and install handrails on Nauka, Russia's primary laboratory on the space station.

An additional spacewalk will see the Russian cosmonauts work on getting the arm operational.

According to NASA, this was the fourth spacewalk at the station in 2022 and the 249th spacewalk for space station assembly, maintenance, and upgrades.
