Cory Joseph, Pistons agree to 2-year, $10 million to bring veteran back among young core
Detroit guard Cory Joseph has agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal with the Pistons, Rich Paul, CEO of Klutch Sports, told Yahoo Sports.
Joseph was traded to Detroit in March from the Sacramento Kings for Delon Wright. In 19 games (11 starts) with the Pistons this season, he averaged 12 points, 5.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game.
The 10-year veteran was drafted by the San Antonio Spurs with the 29th overall pick in 2011. He also played for the Toronto Raptors and Indiana Pacers before signing as a free agent with Sacramento in 2019.
Joseph is a career 44.4% shooter.

Detroit is coming off a 20-52 season. The Pistons have made the postseason twice in the past 12 seasons.
The Pistons have built some momentum this offseason, starting with getting the No. 1 overall pick in the deep 2021 draft class. They selected guard Cade Cunningham.
The Pistons' core is young, with 2020 first-round selection Saddiq Bey finished fourth in Rookie of the Year voting and was named to the All-Rookie first team. Another 2020 first-rounder, Isaiah Stewart, had a standout season in Detroit, starting 14 games and averaging 7.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. He was a All-Rookie second-team selection.
