Former 'Corrie' star Georgia May Foote gets engaged

Georgia May Foote has revealed she is engaged to her boyfriend Kris Evans - and can't stop crying with joy.

The former Coronation Street star is thought to have got engaged on holiday, as she posted a picture on Instagram showing the happy couple sitting on the beach at sunset and gave her location as "cloud nine".

Foote, 30, is holding up her hand to show off a sparkler on her ring finger.

"Mrs Evans to be," she wrote alongside an engagement ring emoji.

"Of course I am still crying. @krisevanmusic I love you beyond words and I am honoured you have chosen me."

The actor also posted a picture of her flashing her ring as she "woke up a fiancee".

And she told fans in a video: "Thank you for all your lovely messages.

"As you can see, my eyes are very puffy because I keep crying!"

The star was inundated with congratulations after revealing that she and Britain's Got Talent star Evans are set to wed.

"Ah, congratulations darling! Sending you so much love xxxx," wrote actor Charlie Condou.

Corrie's Sacha Parkinson posted: "Oh my goodnessssss. Congratulations you gorgeous humansss."

"So happy for you darling girl x," wrote Corrie's Helen Flanagan.

Foote played Alison Simmons in Grange Hill before joining ITV's Corrie, where she starred as Katy Armstrong for five years until she left in 2015.

Since then her TV credits have included Trollied and The Outpost.

She also appeared on Strictly in 2015.
