Coronation Street's Ray Crosby has manipulated Faye Windass in tonight's double-bill, as disturbing scenes showed Ray coerce Faye into sleeping with him through fear of losing out on her new trainee manager job.

In the first episode of the evening (November 30), the shady hotelier was left fuming when Faye (Ellie Leach) revealed that her step-mum Sally had changed her mind about selling the house.

Thinking on his feet, Ray (Mark Frost) suggested that he set the family up with a new – and, more importantly, discounted – house in the swanky Hale Barns estate.

"Honestly Ray, Sally'll be made up. I don't know how to thank you," Faye gushed.

"Don't worry, I'll think of something," Ray replied with a wink.

Later, Sally (Sally Dynevor) managed to persuade partner Tim (Joe Duttine) that they should move and she set her plans into motion right away, selling their property to Roxy – something that instantly sparked the suspicions of Abi (Sally Carman).

"I think Ray's trying to buy up all the houses on the street," she said to Debbie Webster, who was passing by on the cobbles.

In a follow-up scene, Faye returned back to work for a wine tasting, but was confused when Ray, who was wearing just a bathrobe, insisted that they do it in his private room.

After giving her opinion on the alcohol, Faye became increasingly uncomfortable as Ray started flattering her.

"The industry needs women like you. Women who know their own mind, and aren't afraid to speak it," he told her. "But who can charm the birds from the trees when you need to..."

"You really think I can do all that?" she answered shyly.

"Well, you're certainly charming me," Ray replied, before Faye informed him that she has a boyfriend.

"Well, now you're in danger of hurting my feelings," he said. "After everything I've done for you. You can go back to polishing cutlery, if that's what you want, or – and this would be the smarter move – you could continue to benefit from the opportunities I'm offering and join me in the bath."

In the night's second episode, it was revealed that Faye had slept with Ray, who soon drove her back home to the Street after urging Faye to keep what had happened between them quiet.

"You're not feeling guilty are you?" Ray asked Faye. "I know you've got a thing going on with Craig, but he doesn't have to know. We're both adults here. This is just a bit of fun, between you and me – no one else's business."

The storyline is set to continue on into the soap's big 60th anniversary week when Faye is left traumatised after Ray crosses the line with his awful behaviour.
