The tragedies keep coming on Coronation Street in the week of the 25 to 29 October 2021, as David admits his shame and Simon blames himself.
Plus Nina and Asha get close again and Zeedan is under pressure.
Full spoilers ahead.
David feels the guilt
As everyone reels from the recent chaos, it’s left to Leo to break the news to David that had the Platts repaired the sinkhole sooner, the catastrophe would never have happened. And as the finger of blame starts to be pointed in his family’s direction, David does end up admitting to the locals that his failure to fix the problem is what resulted in the crisis.

In the aftermath, we’ll also witness Simon Barlow blaming himself for the destruction caused by Harvey, Dev trying to rebuild his family, Roy’s conscience causing him problems – and yet more tragedy hitting the Street on Monday.
Nina and Asha are reunited
After Asha spots homeless guy Stu wearing a Weatherfield County backpack, she grows convinced that it must be Corey’s from the night of the attack. But when she chases after Stu, he unfortunately gets away.
Asha and Nina then vow to track Stu down in the belief that this is their last chance to prove Corey’s guilt. But after finding him on Friday, Stu is adamant that he doesn’t want to get involved and hurries away. Though both girls are left disappointed, Nina ends up taking Asha’s hand in hers and telling her that she’s ready to give their relationship another go. It’s a declaration that leaves Asha thrilled.
Cash for Curtis?
Curtis can’t help but be flattered when Emma heaps praise on him for coming to people’s aid during the crisis. But when he reveals that he’s agreed to do another shift at the hospital, Emma is worried that he’s taking on too much.
Later in the week, her concern mounts when she notices that a clump of Curtis’s hair has fallen out and he explains that it’s a side effect of his illness. A heartbroken Emma then confides her worries about Curtis’s condition in dad Steve and asks if he’d lend her the money from Oliver’s fund to allow him to see a private consultant.
Steve, though, explains that this won’t be possible as people handed over their money in good faith and it’d be illegal. It’s news that leaves Emma feeling deflated and troubled by the prospect of what the future might bring.
Zeedan is under pressure
Despite the disaster, many of the local businesses are continuing to trade. But Zeedan’s actions might well result in Speed Daal not having much of a future.
In next Friday’s double bill, Zee takes the opportunity to launder some of Hashim’s cash through the restaurant till. But the duplicity won’t end there, with Hashim then meeting up with Zeedan in the ginnel and handing him another bag of cash, telling him that he’s got a month to push it through the books. A despondent Zeedan feels his heart sinking at the prospect…
Ryan gets suspicious
With his DJ equipment having been wrecked on the night of the storm, Ryan fears that his career in the business is over. Alya has a proposition for him, though: some shifts at Speed Daal to tide him over.
Ryan’s grateful, but on his first day, he ends up noticing Zeedan in a heated exchange with Hashim. And when he later questions him about it, Zee refuses to be drawn. So might a suspicious Ryan end up exposing the money laundering operation?
