Coronation Street star Adam Hussain apologises for liking Andrew Tate tweets
The 22-year-old soap actor denied knowing who Andrew Tate is and said sorry for showing him support.
Coronation Street actor Adam Hussain has apologised for liking tweets sent by self-proclaimed misogynist Andrew Tate.
The actor – who plays Dev Alahan's teenage son Aadi Alahan – said sorry after The Sun newspaper drew attention to the soap star's apparent support for the controversial influencer on social media. The 22-year-old denies knowing who Tate was.
Hussain said in a statement: "I’m really sorry if my 'liking' of these tweets has caused any offence to our viewers and my colleagues.

"I wasn’t aware of Andrew Tate and his background and I would never endorse those views.
"I liked some of his tweets in the moment with no reference to his back story. I will be more careful in future."
Among the tweets liked by Hussain was one from Tate which said: "30 more days on house arrest. 30 more days suppressed.
"I haven't been free for a single day this year. The battle rages against Shaitan."
Another was from Tate's brand The Real World following his release which read: "The Truth Will Prevail."
Hussain took over the role of Aadi Alahan in the ITV soap in 2020.
Tate and his brother Tristan are facing allegations of human trafficking and being part of an organised crime gang, which they deny.
They were arrested with two other suspects in Romania in December 2022.
Tate, 36, is a former professional kickboxer who first came to prominence when he appeared on TV show Big Brother in 2016.
Before his arrest he was known for promoting his misogynistic views to young men on social media.
His offensive comments include saying on Twitter that women should "bear responsibility" for being sexually assaulted, a post which led to him being banned from the site in 2017.
He has suggested on his YouTube channel that part of the reason he moved to Romania was the country's sex laws: "I'm not a f***ing rapist, but I like the idea of just being able to do what I want"

Tate said on the Anything Goes with James English podcast last year: "It doesn't matter whether a woman wants to be a lawyer, a house-maker or a webcam girl, unless she has a man directing her she's going to f*** it up."
