Convoy of fans carry World Cup country flags in soccer-mad town in Indonesia

Football fans in West Sumatra rode through the football-mad village of Kampung Bola ('Ball Village') in Pambusuang, carrying the flags of World Cup teams on Sunday 20 November. The soccer fans' enthusiasm for the tournament seemed undimmed by their own country's failure to qualify, instead they adopted the kits and symbols of other teams that did. Police escorted the convoy of cars and motorbikes ahead of the opening game. The police chief of Polewali Mandar, Agung Budi Leksono, said he appreciated the football village, which was always peaceful whether teams won or lost.
