Content, performance, venue: Faizal Tahir concert organiser justifies pricing for singer’s upcoming concert
KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — Pricing for the upcoming Faizal Tahir concert is based on the venue’s capacity and content.
JioBuddy chief executive officer Sean Ng, who’s also the organiser, said they studied the content and performance of Faizal before deciding on the matter.
The singer’s fans have voiced unhappiness over the pricing, between RM488 and RM688, which they considered high.
“So the content of the event determines all of this. We’ve studied Faizal’s content, his performance, his soul (in performing), the venue, his voice and the way he interacts with audiences, (that’s why) it’s called a premium show,” added Ng.
“And this is why I said that I’m confident it will be a good show.”
The Aku Faizal Tahir Live in Kuala Lumpur concert to celebrate the singer’s 17th year in the music industry will be held at Dewan Merdeka in the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) this September 2.
It is also worth noting that the WTCKL’s Dewan Merdeka has a total of six levels and there are still some spaces in level five and six, which were left empty as shown in the new concert layout on JioBuddy’s Instagram post.
Faizal admitted he was a little surprised by the ticketing pricing said that the ticketing matter was out of his jurisdiction as he had given his full trust to the management.
“I don’t know, maybe they (the organiser) already have a strategy in place or maybe they will have an early bird promotion of some kind, I really don’t know.
“Maybe part of it is my fault as I didn’t check on the pricing until I saw it myself. For me to revert back or lower the ticket prices is a bit hard.
“But as Sean explained, the price is based on what they expect from me, which is quite a big pressure when I look at it,” Faizal said.
The 15th Malaysian Music Industry Award winner added that he still has faith in the organiser’s decision as he described them as the experts in these matters.

The Gemuruh singer assured those attending the show would not be disappointed as he has prepared a night to remember for his fellow fans and they will not go home empty handed.
The show will be divided into several segments and he will also be performing hits from his acclaimed albums including Aku.Muzik.Kamu, Adrenalin as well as Faizal Tahir and Anatomi.
He has also prepared a reimagined version of his hit song Sampai Syurga for his fans as a “thank you” note to those who have supported him throughout his 17-year journey in the industry.
