Confusion surrounding foreign travel for summer holidays has grown after government ministers appeared to give the public contradictory advice. Countries around the world are currently rated as either on the green, amber or red list in the new traffic light system. This list should make it easier for holidaymakers to travel abroad. Environment Secretary George Eustice stated that people could go to amber list destinations to see their family or friends. However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson warned against this when challenged by Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer during PMQs. The concern over travelling comes as England's roadmap out of lockdown is at risk due to a rise in cases of the Indian variant.
