The Austin Police Department has thanked a man who stopped and prayed with a police officer while protesters marched in the Texas city on June 7.
Video shows a motor officer from the Austin Police Department joining hands with a member of the public as they said a prayer together, while people can be heard cheering in the background.
Jim Walters told Storyful he joined the demonstration with his 13-year-old daughter, who insisted they march, and captured this moment along the route. “I walked by and when I realized what I had just seen, I pulled out my iPhone and ran back to capture the moment just as the citizen and the officer wrapped up their prayer together,” Walters told Storyful.
