Community Marks Anniversary of Deadly Waukesha Christmas Parade Attack
Community members gathered at Cutler Park in Waukesha, Wisconsin, on Monday, November 21, for a vigil to mark one year since an SUV ploughed through the city’s Christmas parade killing six people.
Footage by Marquette Wire shows people gathered near the Les Paul Performing Center as the sun set.
“One year ago, our Waukesha community experienced fear, heartbreak, and loss. Our lives have been forever changed,” the City of Waukesha wrote on Twitter ahead of the vigil. “While great pain and suffering was inflicted, we also continue to show that we are a community of bravery, love, compassion and unity.”
The SUV’s driver, Darrell Brooks, was sentenced to life imprisonment last week. Credit: Marquette Wire/@MU_Wire via Storyful
