Commentator Drops F-Word On Olympic Golf Broadcast, And It Isn't 'Fore!'
NBC Sports analyst Morgan Pressel seemed to drop an f-bomb in her excitement on a Paris Olympics golf broadcast Friday.
Brooke Henderson of Canada had hit a good shot and given a fist pump while walking with her caddy.
“She’s fuckin’ fired up,” Pressel then appeared to say in a clip of the moment. “You love to see it.”
Pressel, who herself has won two tournaments on the LPGA Tour, apologized Saturday during the women’s final round at the Games, claiming she would never make such a mistake.
“I just want to take a moment to acknowledge something that I said yesterday during the broadcast,” Pressel said, according to mediareports. “I stumbled over my words and unfortunately it sounded as if I said something inappropriate.”
She added that she’s “so sorry that it came across as such because I would never say that on the air in a broadcast.”
Women’s Olympic golf has aired on NBCUniversal’s Peacock streaming service and the Golf Channel. This is Pressel’s first Olympics assignment for NBCUniversal.
