And here’s a low-down of some of the short videos by various brands to mark the arrival of the Hari Raya festivities.

Dilema Irama by Petronas

Petronas is known for its heartwarming cultural Hari Raya ads annually, and this year is no exception.

The video titled Dilema Irama, explores Malaysian culture through music.

The film captures the essence of Hari Raya with its emotionally charged storyline and original musical compositions that takes audiences on a journey of self-discovery and family relationships.

The 10-minute short film highlights a father and son who share a great passion for music although it's of different genres.

Nadim, an emerging contemporary music composer, faces a dilemma when he reluctantly agrees to play the 'gambus' for his father’s traditional music performance at a 'buka puasa' event, causing a conflict between them.

As the story unfolds, watch the pair re-bond through music.

Kisah Raya Perit by Julie’s

International biscuit brand Julie’s continued its tradition of festive campaigns with its Hari Raya short film called Kisah Raya Perit.

The short film is part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to break down stereotypes often faced during the festive season, as well as promote unity and understanding between family members and in the community.

It highlights what it’s like to be a single mother in society’s eyes.

The short film features Timah and her daughter Farah, bringing the audience on a journey through their 'balik kampung' drive, bringing to light the challenges that Timah faced by being a single parent.

Viewers are brought through the typical, yet critical judgements usually dished out to single parents, especially during the festive season.

National carmaker Proton doesn't fail to impress with its emotional yet inspiring Hari Raya short film.

Despite the son’s busy work schedule, the father is determined to bring them closer, as he prepares for a festive reunion under the pretext of fixing up their old car together.

Gambar Pagi Raya by Air Selangor

Taking that Insta-worthy photo on Hari Raya day is undoubtedly one of the top priorities of everyone.

But what would happen if everyone become too obsessed with having the best snap during the family reunion?

They simply forget to be present and appreciate the true moments of togetherness.

That’s the message Air Selangor tries to convey through its Hari Raya short film titled Gambar Pagi Raya.

The short film tells a story about Anis who is too obsessed with having the Raya-perfect photo until she forgets to enjoy the real moments with her family.
