College Basketball Player's Wig Falls Off Mid Game and Both Teams Stop to Help: Watch the Moving Viral Moment
The moment came during Sunday's game between Ole Miss and South Carolina
The power of women supporting women played out on the college courts this weekend.
That's exactly what happened at the Ole Miss vs. South Carolina women's basketball game on Feb. 4 when the women got a bit physical on the court and one of the Ole Miss Rebels found herself splayed out on the floor. When she hit the floor, her wig flew off her head, and the rest of the women on the court immediately surrounded her so she could fix it before continuing on with the game.
The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) right after Ole Miss' Marquesha Davis hit the floor and has over 3 million views of women championing the players for setting aside the game to help out their fellow woman. South Carolina's head coach Dawn Staley even called out the moment after the game, replying to the viral moment and praising both teams for how they acted.
This warms my heart! My @GamecockWBB babies met the moment with the kindness and understanding I see everyday. @OleMissWBB were all locked hands in a united front. This is WBB at its finest. Love this! WE ARE WBB!!!

Several replies to the original video on X also noted that the cameras caught the sweet moment that the players huddled around Davis as she fixed her hair but then swept away to film the crowd, the players on the bench and the coaches, rather than continue to capture footage of what was happening on the court — giving everyone privacy.
More replies gushed about the maturity of the players and more than a few said what a beautiful thing it was to see sisterhood among women.
After the hair mishap, both teams laughed off the situation and got back to the grind. Though the Rebels put up a fight, they couldn't take down the undefeated Gamecocks and ended up losing 85-56.
