In a brand new Instagram post, Cole confirmed that the Riverdale co-stars had split earlier this year. However, he also noted that there is no bad blood between them and that he is totally supporting her and her new projects.
"Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March. What an incredible experience I had, I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love. I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward. All I’ll say about it, anything else you hear doesn’t matter," he wrote on Instagram.
"Also her movie comes out soon! I’m sure she’s just as incredible in it as everything else she does. Thanks guys ❤️"
Even though the couple was rumored to have been dating since 2017, they didn't make their red carpet debut until May 2018 at the Met Gala. Recently, fans had been wondering about a possible split after rumors started spreading about the two reportedly taking time apart.
Lili Reinhart recently spoke to Refinery29 about her depression and many fans took her words to be about their possible breakup. However, she set the record straight on Twitter when she said that they were taken out of context.
"Quotes taken from my most recent interview are not about a 'breakup.' They are about the depression I’ve felt over these last few months. Tired of people taking my words out of context and piecing together their own story for clickbait," she wrote. "I would never speak so candidly about something as personal as a breakup. That’s incredibly private. I was addressing my depression."
