Cody Simpson Gives Miley Cyrus the Gift of a Public 6-Month Anniversary Tribute
Cody Simpson let the entire world know on his Instagram Story yesterday that he and Miley Cyrus started dating six months ago. He shared a black and white photo of Cyrus and wrote, "6 months with you is worth a lifetime with anyone else. I love you."
Simpson and Cyrus were first photographed out kissing at a Los Angeles grocery store and açai bowl eatery on October 3. Simpson's post suggest the two privately started dating on September 30/October 1, depending on whether he was posting a little late or early.
Just weeks after the two started dating, Simpson spoke on Australia's Kyle & Jackie O Show about why he and Cyrus decided to make their relationship public off the bat. "We spoke about it like first week, like what we’re going to get blown up right, and we can go about it one of two ways: Getting busted all the time or just like not allowing anyone to bust us because we’re busting ourselves anyway," he said.
The two had been friends for years, and Simpson said there was always romantic interest there. "I think we were interested in each other ever since we first met, even when I was like, 18, and it was just not the right time," he started.
"We've just been close ever since we met and—it's weird, it's like the first time I've been with someone where it wasn't necessarily an immediate romance," he continued. "It was just friendship and fun and...it just developed over like five years."
