Hurricane Sally, a Category 1 hurricane at the time of writing, was expected to bring up to 30 inches of rain to parts of the Gulf Coast on September 15, the National Hurricane Center said.
The hurricane was expected to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane Wednesday with sustained winds of 85 mph and a potential storm surge of up to seven feet.
Baldwin County Emergency Management Association officials urged residents south of US Route 98 in Foley, Alabama, to consider evacuating to higher ground before the storm made landfall.
